Well, I have no doubt there is a degree of truth to it -- and as a matter of fact, my pet cat when I was youth once brought a squirrel into the house in a state which could not be characterized as "a clean death" by any stretch of the imagination (or entrails) -- but this cartoon smacks of anti-feline propaganda, which commonly emanates from those who have a marked fondness for what may be far less "humanistic" creatures such as birds and lizards.
The very fact that there was no doggy cam to reveal possible similar predilections among canines demonstrates the imbalance of the original study, and the cartoon misrepresents the study that was done: they were only studying "free roaming cats" which is a not a group representative of the total number of cats here, since many are kept indoors.

| I remember my big white cat bringing in a bird one day. She set the bird down on the kitchen floor next to her food dish and then walked over to the arm of the couch (where she still had a clear view if the bird) to take a nap. Poor bird, I stole it from her and released it outside. The little thing was so traumatized it was afraid to move while it was in the house but it did just fine after being outside for a couple minutes.
