I voted for Season 1 because of Zev, mainly, although I think Season 2 came in a close second, for me.

I voted for season 1 as my favourite but season 2 is a close second followed by season 3 and then season 4.

Season 3 Kai's cod-peice says it all. The good/evil story line was great too.

Never mind "back in the day" - I'd still want that cod piece! :beat_hea::eusadrool:
Anyway... My favorite season currently ('cuz it changes....) is Season 3... but I also really love the Season 1 movies. They were pretty special the first time I saw them and they've held a place in my heart ever since.

Each season is so unique that any could be my favorite depending on the criterion.
The one-and-a-half hour-long format of the Season One was used to great advantage for building suspense and a sense of entrapment in a deeply dark world, amid stark allusions to behavior in our world such as the allegory to drug addiction in Eating Pattern; and the bitter longings for some form of self-preservation in the face of great adversity. I also recount that Season 1 featured a suffocating pervasiveness of Bureaucracy and its callous disregard for life in the first and last episodes which leads me to associate it with such masterful dystopic classics as Brazil and Blade Runner.
(#1 in dystopic nightmare)
Season Two is a bit more light-hearted by comparison. I think this was the most wacky of all the seasons - though to be sure that is a close thing.
(#1 in escapist sci-fi wackiness)
I didn't like Season Three at first. I didn't like the fact that it marked the end of Season Two's antics and I didn't like the whole afterlife mumbo-jumbo and the strict dichotomy between good and evil. I especially didn't like Prince because he is such a scary dude - much more so than any other one of the show's bad guys - and Prince was foremost among factors that so greatly limited the Lexx's crew - and especially Stan - in their ability to control their own destinies. This was the only season that Security Guard Class Four wasn't able to blow up a single planet of his own accord.
(#1 in pure horror)
Just like Season Three, Season Four grew on me over time. I grew accustomed to the life-after-death theme and got to enjoy seeing how old characters from the first two seasons continue to be brought back. I liked the way direct references to our society and current events could be made. In this Season just as in all the other seasons Stan and the crew on occasion found themselves powerless against formidable enemies, but at least now and then Prince showed signs of weakening in his new incarnation such as becoming trapped in a T.V. set.
(#1 in lampooning our society)
Overall, I vote 2,1,4,3
(I guess the cod piece scene of Season 3 didn't mean that much to me... I liked the look on Mantrid's face while he chewed up that bug though!)

Good points, all of them... "Dystopic nightmare" is the perfect way to describe season 1. I couldn't come up with that in the wee hours when I was making my comment... ;o)
It's true that picking a favorite season is a tough process. I chose season 3 for now since I just finished re-watching it. It's still fresh, I suppose. However, there are so many things I love about each season that it does become a bit like having to "choose between your kids," ya know?
I've started re-watching season 4, so perhaps when I'm done I can better evaluate their placing. I will say, however, that when I recall Lexx as a whole - just randomly in my mind - I most often think of moments from Season 2.

Season 1 was legendary, Season 2 was goofy and provocative, Season 3 was dark and edgy and Season 4 was....what can I say? Jeff wrote a ton of the material so it was schizophrenic to say the least. Some eps were pure genius (Fluffdaddy, The Game) and others were a yawn-fest. My least favorite season as a whole but it had some of my favorite eps of all time... Xanax anyone?

Season three was my favorite. Reminded me of dante's inferno with a unique twist to it.
